Between 1940 and 1948, some 4,000 Vietnamese passed through the Bergerac gunpowder factory in the Dordogne. Since January 2023, I have been working on a very ambitious project aimed at bringing their story to life and honoring their memory. Conducted in partnership with Michel Lecat (see video), the project consists of several components: a book, an exhibition, a memorial, a mausoleum, and more. The first phases of the project began in the summer of 2025 with the opening of the exhibition, followed by the book’s release in January 2026.
This project is supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the Occitanie region, the Dordogne department, the Bergerac Urban Community (CAB), and the city of Bergerac.
